Have you been wondering how to plan a micro wedding or elopement at the Maroon Bells; one of the most beautiful mountain views Aspen, Colorado has to offer? I’m here to help!
How to make a reservation
When Nicole and Alex reached out to book their elopement photography, Maroon Bells was their #1 location choice. Maroon Bells hosts a beautiful amphitheater for weddings and elopements that can hold up to 50 people. You must reserve your time slot and parking permits. Reservations open one year in advance on a rolling basis for $200 per day. These reservations get taken quickly! Each reservation is allowed up to 5 parking permits or your guests can take the shuttle in from town! All of this information and more can be found on their website.
How to plan your day
I recommend getting an airbnb or hotel room in Aspen so you can soak up every moment of this special day. Nicole, Alex, and their dog Axel stayed at The Residence Hotel located in Aspen, Colorado; a 15 minute drive from the Bells. I documented them getting ready in their separate rooms prior to their first-look just outside of the hotel.
The Elopement
Nicole and Alex exchanged their private vows in front of the Maroon Bells in early October. The leaves were still beaming with color, and it had just snowed the weekend prior yet was a delightful 65 degrees on the day of the wedding. Colorado weather will always carry an element of surprise, but whether the Bells are green and lush or white and snowy, they never boast a bad view.
After their vows, we walked down to the river for some photos of a celebratory champagne pop, cake cutting, and the signing of their marriage license with their pup where we saw a family of Moose drinking from the river.
